Our good friend Scott just got home from a couple of months long trip to China... Scott recently graduated with his degree (correct me please, Scott!) in Alternative Medicine, specifically Acupuncture.
He did me the huge favor, back in August, of giving me several treatments to get my blood pressure down. Seriously! I had my own acupuncture guy who came to me and treated me... it was fabulous!
But I digress... Scott got this internship-type opportunity in China, which is amazing, so off he went! We had made a request that he bring something back for Max, we specifically requested a "lead-lined lead ball made by underage children working the graveyard shift for 25 cents a day," but he did one better, bringing Max a little rat figurine (this is the Year of the Rat, and being Max's birth year, he is a rat) and a mascot toy of the Beiljing Olympics, actually purchased *in* Beijing!Thinking back to the news stories of late about toys and other products that are made in China, he instructed us not to let Max actually touch this toy until he's 25 or 30... it's a safety thing! LOL
Reading the box, it's oh so reassuring to see that this plush toy "Possesses the following characteristics: Stain Resistant, Oil and Water Repellent, Odorless and Environmentally Friendly" I'm a little curious as to what China's "Environmentally Friendly" requirements might be, but otherwise, it's a very cute little character that we're thrilled to have for Max.
So Scott, thank you! We missed you and are glad you're home!
