Let Him Eat Cake! OK, Formula...

They started Max on formula again yesterday, with promising results!
He gets 1 mL per feeding, every three hours.
Before he gets the next feeding, they check his stomach for "residuals," undigested formula from the previous feeding.
In the SEVEN feedings he's received since yesterday, he has only had .5 mL of undigested stuff left over! This is a huge step forward compared to last week, where entire feedings went undigested.
If we can keep him on formula like this, he'll start putting on weight in no time!

His belly is still a little swollen, but much better looking than it had been previously; he's getting some good "output" (read: poops) so we're hoping all of these things put together make for good progress as far as his intestines are concerned.

The only not-so-good thing of late is his breathing; since they took him off the CPAP, his apnea had been better, but last night wasn't a great night for him, with 11 episodes. :-( I'm hoping it's just a phase and is related to his gut; you can tell from watching that he can't get a real, good deep breath because he's all distended... we're hoping for some improvement as his belly gets better.

Thanks, as always, for the calls, emails, prayers and love. We appreciate it more than you could ever know!
